Inocybe (Fr.) Fr., Monogr. Hymenomyc. Sueciae 2: 346 (1863)
Pleurocystidia present, often thick-walled and with crystalliferous apices; spores smooth or angular-nodulose; basidia never necropigmented; hilar appendix relatively conspicuous. Cosmopolitan, most frequent in temperate habitats, present in both the neotropics and paleotropics.
